Darryl Eugene Climer was born Jan. 7, 1966, in Springfield, at Burge Protestant Hospital (now known as Cox North). He departed this life Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, in his home near Lebanon, at the age of 56 years, and two days. His parents were Donna Carol (Brame) Climer and the late Bobbie Harold Climer. Darryl came into the world weighing only 4 lbs., 7 oz. and 17 inches long. He was so tiny he fit cross ways on a pillow. He was named after his aunt Shirley Eugene (Climer) Garrison. He attended kindergarten through 12th grade in Mansfield. Darryl and Janet Faye Grzeczka were married on July 27, 1987, at the home of her grandparents Edgar and Lula Dunbar, of Mansfield. To this union, three children were born, Anthony Dale, Matthew Chad B.B.K. and Casey LeaAnn Lynn. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobbie Climer; his father and mother-in-law, Bob and Sylvia (Dunbar) Grzeczka; seven uncles; three aunts; and a special cousin, Tommy Newton; who taught Darryl his ornery ways.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet, of 34 years of their home in Lebanon, and their three children (two sons and one daughter), Anthony (Tony) Climer, and his wife, Britney, of Osage Beach; Matthew Climer, of Lebanon; and Casey Climer and her significant other, Eastton Middleton; and his two grandchildren, Izabella and Houstton Middleton, of Hartville; his mother, Donna Climer, of Mansfield; his second mother, JoAnn Carter, and her husband, Junior, of Mountain Grove; his older brother, Dean Climer, and his wife, Beth, of Mountain Grove; and his baby brother, David Climer; and nephew, Noah Climer; and his mother, Anita Baker, of Springfield; his niece, Amelia Rowe, and her husband, Joey; and two great-nieces, Joslyn and Emma Rowe, of Atlanta, Iowa; and two nephews, Christopher Roach and his wife, Emily; and great-nephew Remington, of Salem; Dylan Roach and his wife, Andrea; and great-nephew, Kentley, of Salem; two aunts, Pauline Keith, of Mansfield; and Shirley Garrison, of Battlefield; as well as numerous cousins and friends. Darryl was a sweet and ornery kid that loved helping his family on their farms and hunting. He had many interests over the years that he would dive into whole heartedly; from Boy Scouts, bowling, playing paintball, riding ATVs, shooting guns, and fireworks. He loved teaching his family and friends gun safety and how to shoot. He enjoyed helping put on the 4th of July firework show at the Community Baptist Church for many years. He retired from Emerson (Copeland) after 25+ years where he made many friends and gained new family members. Back in the day, he also enjoyed volunteering at Raw Hide Gun & Pawn for many years to support his love for and addiction to guns (HAHA). He was a sweet and at times self-proclaimed grumpy old man that never knew a stranger. He loved his family and friends more than anything and wouldn’t hesitate to help anyone.

A Memorial Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22 at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Recorded musical selection was “Take My Hand, Precious Lord” by Joey and Rory.
