Delores Anne (Pendergrass) Reed was born in California to Melvin R.C. and Emma (Francis) Pendergrass on Sep. 11, 1950. She departed this life on Dec. 26, 2022, with both of her sons by her side. Delores grew up mostly in California until her extended family convinced her parents to move to Missouri, where they settled in Cabool. This is where she met and married Junior Reed. Two children were born to this union, Daniel and Robert. Delores worked several years as a Certified Nurse Aide. She went to college and graduated with honors in May of 1998. Delores loved her family. She also loved nature and time spent cooking. She was always a great person to talk with and never judged anyone. She also loved to write and used the pen name, Ivory Rose. Delores was preceded in death by her father, R.C. Pendergrass; her mother, Emma Johns; a sister, Lorrie Holt; and a brother, Lester Pendergrass. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Reed (Tammy), of Warsaw, and Robert Reed, of Mountain Grove. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service and potluck meal is planned for Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Shetlers Event Center, Mountain Grove. The meal will begin around 1 p.m. with the memorial to follow. Friends are invited to bring food and special memories to share. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
