Election Results for the Aug. 2 primary

We will be posting updated election results as they become available.
The August 2 primary election results are mostly in as of 11:05 p.m.
 
In the locally competitive races:
Incumbent Zach Williams (2,181) defeated Hunter Fenstermacher (494) in the Wright County Presiding Commissioner Republican primary race.
 
The tightest race was between Justin Brown and Suzie Pollock in District 16. With all 77 precincts reporting, Brown appears to have won. He had 10,978 votes to Suzie Pollock's 10,594 votes.
 Of course, these results are not certified as of yet.
 
In the nearby State Rep. District 143 Republican primary with all 28 precincts reporting, incumbent Bennie Cook won with 4,041 votes. Christopher Davis was second (876) and Phillip Lohmann was third (731).
 
With 374 of the 410 precincts reporting for the U.S. District 8 Republican primary, incumbent Jason Smith is headed for the win. He has 66,720 votes to Jacob Turner's 12,110 votes.
 
One Texas County result of interest shows Mike Baker defeated Andrew (Andy) Wells, 470-285, in the Piney Township Committeeman Republican primary.
 
In the statewide races, there were some results with 3,409 of the 3,592 precincts had reported.
 
U.S. Senate Republican race
Eric Schmitt is the projected winner with 45.76% of the vote or 264,284 votes. Vicky Hartzler in second (129,350) and Eric Greitens in third (110,788).
 
U.S. Senate Democrat race
Trudy Busch Valentine is up with 147,883 votes. Lucas Kunce is second (131,198). The race was too close to call at 11:11 p.m.
 
State Auditor Republican race
Incumbent Scott Fitzpatrick is at 334,037 votes. David Gregory sits at 181,676. Fitzpatrick is the declared victor.
 
 
Update as of 10:47 p.m.
With 374 of the 410 precincts reporting for the U.S. District 8 Republican primary....
Jason Smith is headed for the win. He has 66,720 votes to Jacob Turner's 12,110 votes.
 
In the nearby State Rep. District 143 Republican primary with all 28 precincts reporting....

U.S. Senate Republican race
Eric Schmitt has an early lead at 43% (215,434) with Vicky Hartzler in second (114,192) and Eric Greitens in third (95,519).
 
U.S. Senate Democrat race
Trudy Busch Valentine is up with 112,653 votes. Lucas Kunce is second (102,737).
 
State Auditor Republican race
Incumbent Scott Fitzpatrick is at 281,114 votes. David Gregory sits at 154,895.

One Texas County result of interest:
Mike Baker defeated Andrew (Andy) Wells, 470-285 tonight in the Piney Township Committeeman Republican primary.

In the Wright County Presiding Commissioner race...
Incumbent Zach Williams (2,181) defeated Hunter Fenstermacher (494).
 
The Wright County winner for the State Senate District 16 tight race was Justin Brown (1,417). Suzie Pollock has 1,272 votes in the county.
 
As for U.S. Rep. District 8 local votes, Jason Smith (2,310) won. Jacob Turner had 401 votes in the county.
 
Scott Fitzpatrick won the Republican primary for Auditor, 1,506-995 over David Gregory for Wright County voters.
 
In the U.S. Senator race...
Wright County voters chose Eric Schmitt (1,208), over Eric Greitens (565) and Vicky Hartzler (499).
 
In the Democratic Primary, Trudy Busch Valentine had 97 votes. Lucas Kunce had 73 votes.

Eric Schmitt has an early lead at 41.39% (103,436) with Vicky Hartzler in second (61,691) and Eric Greitens in third (51,809).
 
U.S. Senate Democrat race
Trudy Busch Valentine is up early with 42.49% of the vote (28,731). Lucas Kunce is second (23,905).
 
State Auditor Republican race
Incumbent Scott Fitzpatrick has an early edge at 64.49% (143,041), holding off David Gregory (78,757).
 
With 289 of the 452 precincts reporting...
U.S. Rep. District 8 Republican race
Jason Smith is leading early with 86.5% (32,967). Jacob Turner has 5,122 votes.
 
State Senate District 16 Republican race
With 46 of 77 precinct reporting, it's too close to call.
Justin Brown has 6,706 to Suzie Pollock at 6,698
 
State Rep. District 143
Bennie Cook is up early with 22 of 28 precincts reporting. He has 3,616 or 76.41%. Christopher Davis is second (594) and Phillip Lohmann is third (522).
