Election Results: Sales Use Tax vote fails everywhere but Hartville, Mansfield votes "No" on Prop 2

Wright County voters made their voices heard today when it came to voting "No" mostly across the board on the local use tax issue.  Voters in the City of Hartville did approve the local use tax.
Results were as follows:
Wright County Missouri Proposition: 1,127 "No" - 661 "Yes"
Norwood Proposition No. 2: 50 "No" - 38 "Yes"
Mountain Grove Question 1: 217 "No" - 125 "Yes" (includes Texas County totals)
Mansfield City Use Tax: 116 "No" - 91 "Yes"
Hartville Question 2:  25 "Yes" - 17 "No"
As for the "no sales tax" bond increase called Proposition 2 for the Mansfield R-IV School District, voters turned down the measure 476 "No" - 257 "Yes." If passed, the district would have been allowed to continue its existing debt service property tax levy to sue funds fove building a storm resistant performing arts building. The measure would also have allowed for the district to construct security entrances for all three schools.
In other races:
Norwood
Out of four contestants for the City of Norwood's two year terms for alderman at-large, Jordan Miller (45) and Larry C. Cochran (37) won the two seats. Mike Fitzpatrick (30) was third and Nataniel Davidson (16) was fourth.
Mayor Steven Jarrett won his  race. Norwood voters also approved by a 46 "Yes" - 42 "No" vote for the office of mayor to be a four year term.
In the Norwood R-I School Board race, Rhonda Coatney (158) and Chad Sullivan (109) won the two Board position up for three year terms. Curtis Smith was third (88), Duane Atchison fourth (82) and Myrtle Day was fifth (18).
In the one year term race for the Baord, Nancy Smith won by just six votes, 105-99, over R.A. Bradshaw. Randy Cottengim was third (42).

Mountain Grove
All races in Mountain Grove had winners running unopposed. The winners were Fred VanBibber, mayor (294); Danny Bledsoe, marshall/ex officio collector (304); Webb Friend, Ward I (116); Dan Bartlett, Ward II (60), Sondra Mahoney, Ward III (61); and Sherri Unger, Ward IV (61).

Mansfield

Luke Lawson won the competitive Ward II race by just four votes, 49-45, over Megan Kingery. Courtnee Hopper was third (13).
Steve Baty ran unopposed and won the  City of Mansfield's Ward I race with 80 votes.
As for the Mansfield R-IV School Board race, Tim Brazeal (355) and Brad Hanger (350) each won a spot on the Board. Kati Pyle was third (322) and Laynie Noble took fourth (159).

Hartville
As for Question 1 on whether the City of Hartville can forgo annual elections if the number of candidates and the position up for election were equal, the "Yes" vote won, 26-16.
Running unopposed and winning races in the City of Hartville were alderman candidates Jeffrey Bettendorf (29) and Brett Long (31). Rob Tucker won the unopposed mayoral race (31).

In Texas County,  Steve Hawkins (172) and  Chelsea Melton on seats on the Cabool R-4 School Board.
As for the Cabool Marshall race, Jerald Sigman (144) beat Rex Churchill (16).
As for the Houston FPD Question, it failed, "No" (283) - "Yes" (278).
The Houston FPD Director voted in was Kyle Hale (236). Harold Bruening (155) was second and Sam Dortch was third (62).
As for the Ward II in Houston race, Sheila Campbell Walker (72) deeated Glen D. McKinney (17).
In Ward III, Angie K. Gettys (123) defeated Kimberly Bittle (66).
Willy Walker (216) beat Don Romines (179) to win the Houston mayoral race.
In Clinton Township, Mary Forbers won the treasurer race with 58 votes to just three write-in votes.
