Grateful for opportunity to assume ownership role at local newspaper

The smile in this old photo does not truly represent the smile that is currently on my face...

I am one happy and grateful man for how God knocked down the doors necessary for allowing me to become an owner of a newspaper after 20 years of working in the industry. He planned things out and executed in His perfect timing. I had entertained other purchase possibilities through the years, but was never in a financial position to make such a decision. I also never had a peace that any of those possibilities were the right situation for my family. Fast forward to last November, when, through prayer, I was given a peace I’ve never experienced before in looking at this endeavor. I asked God that if He wanted this to happen, that I needed Him to take me by the hand and make things come together easily. If not, I needed Him to shut the door to this thought completely. Within a week, through the help of a friend, I had an LLC and EIN established. God then led me to a bank that has dealt with newspaper transactions in the past. I was quickly approved for a loan, a purchase price was settled on and even my appraisal was done within a week of setting up an appointment. He simply took care of things. I want to thank well-respected owner Dalton Wright for giving me this opportunity. He understood the importance for Wright County to have a locally owned and operated newspaper and entrusted that ownership opportunity to me.
