Posted

The Class 3 Hartville Eagles traveled to Lebanon last week to take on a Class 6 Yellow Jackets’ squad and they didn’t back down from the challenge of taking on the much larger school.

In fact, the Eagles dominated from the opening tip-off and cruised to a 73-43 victory to move their record to 7-1 on the season.

Hartville jumped out to a 21-7 first quarter lead behind Grant Culver’s fast start as he had two 3-pointers and scored nine points.

He added another 12 points in the second quarter and had 19 in the first half as the Eagles were up 38-24 at halftime.

Hartville would end up outscoring Lebanon, 35-19, in the second half to win the game by 30 points.

Culver finished with a team-high 28 points. Jacob Ballard, Brody McNiel and Eric Wilson each added 10 points; both Jackson Ward and Logan Simpson had five points; while Jalon Cryer and Haylon Bel both had two points.
