JUNE EDNA (MORRIS) MILLER

June Edna (Morris) Miller, daughter of the late Chester and Edna (Schwerdtfeger) Morris, was born June 11, 1926, in Davenport, Iowa, and departed this life May 11, 2023, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove. She was 96 years and 11 months of age. June grew up in Iowa and lived in Bettendorf, Iowa, before moving to Missouri in 1965. She married Vernon Randolph and four children were born to this union. She later married Doyle Miller and one son was born to this union. June worked for Brown Shoe Company from 1966–1990, retiring after 24 years of service. At the age of 14, June was saved and baptized at old Assembly of God Church in Bettendorf, Iowa. She later attended the Lutheran church in Pleasant Valley, Iowa. June loved to square dance, playing the guitar, and singing. She also made and sold jigs to area fishermen. June was always the life of the party wherever she went, lighting up the room when she walked in. She had a huge and giving heart. She would share anything she had with anyone that had a need. Family was very special to her and she loved them all and they loved her back. June also had many friends, but Dalton, Mandi and Traci were very special friends she loved and thought of as family.

Besides her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Miller; one son, Cpl. Vernon C. Randolph; four sisters; and three brothers. She is survived by one son, Jimmy Miller and his wife, Debra, of Mountain Grove; three daughters, Sandy DePover and Jerry Harrington, of LeClaire, Iowa, Brenda Randolph and Doug Dahlin, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Kathie Corson and her husband, Kenny, of Princeton, Iowa; two brothers, Larry Morris and his wife, Jessie, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Arthur Morris, of Davenport, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; special friends, Dalton, Mandi and Traci; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her very much. Visitation for June Miller was held Monday, May 15, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove. Funeral services for Mrs. Miller were Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove, with Bro. Evan Harrison officiating. Song selections were “Mansion Over The Hilltop,” “Where The Roses Never Fade” and “One Day At A Time.” Those serving as pallbearers were Dalton Fleetwood, Michael Skahill, Liberty Gill, Rob DePover, Brian DePover, Jake Skahill, Randy DePover and Justin Gill. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Morris, Joe Morris, Dennis Krell, Vern Krell, Brian Morris and Bill DePover. Burial was in Lone Star Cemetery, Mountain Grove under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
