Lady Eagles clinch share of Summit title

The Hartville Lady Eagles’ softball team’s spring season came to an end last week.

Not only did they end the spring on a three game winning streak, the Lady Eagles earned at least a share of the Summit Conference championship.

Their only loss in the conference came a week earlier to Conway.

In their final game of the season, Erin Still hit an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Hartville the go-ahead run in a 5-4 nonconference win over Van Buren.

The game was also the final one for seniors Breyanna Flachsmann, Molly Brown and Emilee Coday.

Still led the Lady Eagles in the win with two RBIs and one run scored; Katia Todd had one RBI; while Breyanna Flachsmann, Rylea Boyd, Hailey Parker and Brielle Kline each had one RBI..

On the mound, Breyanna Flachsmann tossed three and a third innings of shutout ball with two hits, six strikeouts and two walks.

Ella Fairchild tossed three and two-thirds innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts and four walks.

Hartville finished the season with an 11-2 overall record.
