Lars D. Sanders, 83, of Willard, went to his Heavenly home, Friday, April 28, 2023.  Lars, the son of Lou and Rebecca (Davis) Sanders, was born on Jan. 19, 1940,  in Mountain Grove. On April 15, 1960, Lars and Susan Roth were united in marriage and shared over 49 years together, before Susan’s passing in 2009. Lars loved the Lord and was a faithful and active member and deacon of Willard First Baptist Church. He also served at Grand Oaks Mission. Lars loved making his award-winning pies. Even in his baking, he was serving the Lord. His pies were sold at many different pie auctions, raising money for different programs, especially missions. Lars always wanted to ensure that all the animals were fed, always keeping an eye out, but he loved the horses the most. Although Lars will be missed here on Earth, his family takes great joy knowing that he is in Heaven.

Lars was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and one sister.  Lars is survived by his sons, Danny and wife, Lorna, Joel and wife, Melody, Lane and wife, Andee; grandsons, Caleb and wife, Preslee, Nathan, Jacob and fiancé, Makenna; great grandson, Ives; long-time girlfriend, Carolyn Brady; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.  Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Willard First Baptist Church, Willard. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., at the church, with burial to follow at Robberson Prairie Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Willard First Baptist Church Building Fund and may be left with the funeral home.
