Mansfield Line Dance Class set to begin on Feb. 1

Posted

A Beginner’s Line Dance Class will be starting Feb. 1 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the Ann Short Turner Community Center in Mansfield. The experienced dancers will dance until 3 p.m. The class will be free and open to the public. We ask that you bring your own bottle of drinking water and practical shoes for dancing. If you are a SilverSneakers member, please swipe your card or sign in at the front desk.

The class will be taught by Lona Ryan, who is the SilverSneakers Cardio Circuit instructor at the community center and is familiar with line dancing. A line dance is choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines without regard for the gender of the individuals, all facing the same direction, and executing the steps at the same time. You do not need a partner. It avoids the problem of imbalance of male/female partners that plagues the ballrooms.
