More than $12,000 in project grants awarded by Community Foundation

The Mountain Grove Area Community Foundation presented 10 grants totaling $12,650 to fund projects in the Mountain Grove School System, the City of Mountain Grove and three other organizations during a grant presentation ceremony at the Mountain Grove Middle School on Monday, Dec. 13.

Over the past 10 years, the Foundation has awarded over $100,000 in grants to local clubs, organizations, Mountain Grove Schools and the City of Mountain Grove.

The Foundation raises money through events such as the Foundation Golf Tournament held last September and other events and activities during the year.

“Sponsors and participants in our events have been very generous in helping the Foundation raise funds that we can then use to support local organizations that make our community a better place to live, work, learn, play and worship,” said Dr. David Barbe, Foundation President.

The Foundation’s next event will be a bowling tournament in February.

More information about that event will be available after the first of the year.

“We hope that as individuals and business see the investment the Foundation makes in our community, they will continue to generously support our events,” Dr. Barbe said.

For more information about the Foundation, contact Dr. David Barbe, president, Kim Norris, secretary, or any of the Foundation Board members, which includes Liz Citron, Tom Coats, Dusty Schober, Lori Golden, Patsy Worrel, Rocky Gilbert, Lisa Watson, Jared Moore and Matt Brown.
