Norwood Gleanings for the Feb. 24 issue

Posted

Howdy,

We are about out of the real bad weather, thank goodness. Now to deal with mud. It’s always something here in the Ozarks, but I can’ think of better place to live.

Red’s Slice ’N’ Scoop will have their monthly singing by J.R. Mariot from Ava, back by popular demand, on Feb. 26 on Friday night at 6 p.m. (from 6-8ish).

Feb. 25, the Tri-County veterans will be having their monthly meeting in the party room at the pizza shop. Plan to attend. They really could use some help for a great cause. They fly our flags all over town and give away scholarships to a lucky senior. They eat at 5:30-6 p.m. and then have a meeting afterwards.

Sue’s Greenhouse had her opening day Feb. 19. It was delayed because of the weather, but she’s open now for all to come and enjoy and to see what she offers this season coming up. She’s located five miles out on Highway E. Welcomes you with a friendly smile.

A friendly reminder to get your fire dues paid, $70 at City Hall or the bank for your convenience and all your W2s should be in by now and it’s time to get those taxes done.

Norwood Sale Barn will have their Sheep and Goat Sale on the 27th, starts at 1 p.m. and they have a small caged animal sale coming up on March 20 at 12 p.m., selling at 1 p.m. Mark your calendars. Now would be the time to pick-up your chickens, rabbits, turkeys, guineas and ducks.

There will be a gentleman, Mark Hensley, that will be setting at Norwood Auction Barn, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. to deliver your orders of five gallon soap, dish detergent, laundry soap. You have to re-order at htts://www.facebook.com/Hensley-RetailDistribution-LLC. He also has cleaning supplies. If you are tired of paying high dollar, this might be for you.

Happy belated birthday of 84 years old to Ruby Hopper. It was two weeks ago, but I just found out and she’s still living at her home.

Thought: This generation grew up hearing “okay, baby.” I grew up with “want in one hand and crap in the other, tell me which one fills up faster.” We are not the same!

Until next time, God bless our little town.
