Plans coming together for Mansfield’s 2023 Wilder Day

Posted

The Wilder Day committee met on March 20 to continue the planning of Wilder Day 2023, which is to be held Sep. 22-23 on the Mansfield city square and the grounds of Rocky Ridge Farm.

Events are being planned for Wilder Days. We again will have events on Friday, Sep. 22 on the square. Some events for that date are still in the planning. A Street Dance is planned for Friday night beginning at 7 p.m. on the West side of the square with “Abel Band” performing. We hope to have food, craft and period vendors on the Mansfield Square that night.

On Saturday, Sep. 23, the Fiddle Off will again be held on the grounds of the Wilder Home beginning at 9 a.m. with “Pa’s Fiddle” being played to begin the contest. There will be additional information about events, games, Morgan Horses and other activities released as plans are confirmed.

The Little Laura and Farmer Boy contest will be held on the square beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sep. 23. Application forms will be available to pick up at the Weaver Inn and will be available at our Wilder Days email and website, Wilderdays01@gmail.com. or Wilderdays.org. A Quilt Show will also be held this year. More information will follow after our next committee meeting.

Downtown on the Mansfield Square will be food, craft and period vendors and entertainment with various groups performing each hour. Additional information to follow as it becomes confirmed.

Food and craft vendors are still needed. To request a vendor form, please go to Wilderdays01@gmail.com or Wilderdays.org or call 417-924-3626.
