Stan Coday speaks at MRTA

Posted

Wright County Retired Teachers and Other School Personnel met Tuesday, April 20 at Faith Community Church of the Nazarene Church in Mountain Grove. A legislative report was brought by Nancy Smith informing us that with only three weeks left in the legislative session, it appears that no bills will be introduced that are harmful to our retirement, but we must remain vigilant.

Our speaker was Stan Corday, Representative to the State Board of Missouri Farm Bureau. Membership in Farm Bureau is open to all residents of Missouri, not only those who are directly involved in agriculture. Yearly dues are only $30 and bring many benefits such as discounts on vehicles and equipment, health products, travel, and entertainment.

A portion of the dues are kept in Wright County to help finance local programs. Program categories include Young Farmers, Public Affairs, Marketing, Promotion and Education and Membership.

Farm Bureau is very concerned about legislation in order to protect our rights and move our rural economy forward. Farm Bureau is truly a grassroots organization and members control policy.

The next meeting will be 10 a.m. May 18 at the Faith Community Church of the Nazarene, 1301 N. Hovis St. in Mountain Grove. All retired school personnel are encouraged to attend.
