Trash bid accepted, rates increased

The City of Hartville accepted the trash bid and set new rates during their Jan. 10 meeting held at City Hall. According to drafted meeting minutes, the lone bid opened at the meeting was from Waste Corporation of Missouri, LLC (WCA). It was accepted. The new trash rates for contract billing were discussed. Due to the increase costs and administration fees, Alderperson Karen Brown moved to set trash rates for residential service at $12 per month, commercial service rate at $18.25 per month and a 10% increase on all commercial dumpster service with new billing taking effect in February and reflected in the March billing.

Nathan Helsley addressed the Council. Helsley, of Kingdom Builders Machining & Hydraulics, asked the Council for a lease renewal contract for the building located at 328 S. Industrial Ave. The lease contract was approved with the same stipulations.

Gary Fullington reported to the Council of the repair of a water main break on S. Highway 5. He also reported the sewer lagoon inspection from Department of Natural Resources for Compliance with Missouri Clean Water Law had been completed on Dec. 16, 2021. Gary asked the Council permission to attend the annual Missouri Rural Water Conference in St. Charles March 15-17, 2022 for required training for continued education on license requirements. The measure was approved.

Bill No. 550, “An Ordinance Authorizing The Mayor Of The City Of Hartville To Execute An Agreement For A Low Income Household Water Assistance Program Between The Missouri Department Of Social Services Family Support Division And Water/Wastewater Suppliers” was passed.
