The Hartville City Council reported a 3.5% increase in trash rates during their Jan. 11 meeting at City Hall.
According to drafted meeting minutes, City Clerk Carla Spooner noted the increase for year two of the contract with WCA would take place in February.
The measure raises the residential rates to $11.40/month and commercial trash rates to $15.50/month beginning Feb. 1 and reflecting on the March bill cycle. Councilperson Karen Brown abstained in the vote.
The Council also approved the 2021 Semi-Annual Financial Statement.
Hartville Police Chief Adam Stigall gave the Council a verbal activity report.
He noted there were new computer laptops and accessories that were back ordered and due to arrive on Feb. 8.
Those present for the meeting were Mayor Rob Tucker and aldermen Jessica Vandergrift, Karen Brown, Brett Long and Jeff Bettendorf. Loni Pedersen and Nathan Helsley were absent.
