Water rates among topics at City of Hartville meeting

Posted

Some discussion was held regarding water rates during the City of Hartville’s City Council meeting held on Feb. 8 at Hartville City Hall.

During the meeting, City Clerk Carla Spooner reported that the rates had not been increased since February 2019. According to drafted meeting minutes, the Council will wait until the new household media income figures for Hartville are reported before making any decisions on a rate change.

In other news, it was reported that the roof replacement on the factory building was 60% complete. Due to inclement weather, the roofing contractor has put the project on hold.

City Councilperson Jessica Vandergrift then moved to place an ad for roof repairs on the remaining City buildings with the bid opening at the April 12 meeting. The measure was second and approved.

The 2019-2020 Financial Audit from Catlett & Associates, LLC was presented and approved.

Spooner told the Council that the second storm siren had been installed down on S. Industrial. The minutes from the Jan. 11 and Jan. 20 meeting minutes were also approved.

Those attending the Feb. 8 meeting included Mayor Rob Tucker, Spooner and alderpersons Nathan Helsley, Vandergrift, Brett Long, Loni Pedersen and Jeff Bettendorf. Karen Brown was absent from the meeting.
