Lady Panthers leave Seymour with win

The Mountain Grove Lady Panthers’ basketball team traveled to Seymour last week to take on a Lady Tigers’ squad that had won six of their previous eight games. Mountain Grove was in control of the contest heading into the fourth quarter when Seymour rallied before falling late, 56-55.
The Lady Panthers made 8-of-12 free throws down the stretch to help Mountain Grove hold on for the victory.
Both Stella Benson and Rowen Kelly hit early 3-pointers in a 12-12 contest.
Kelly then added a pair of 3-pointers in a 15-point second quarter to give her team a 27-20 lead at the break.
Landry Golden scored six points while both Hadley Driskill and Benson added a 3-pointer in the third quarter to push the lad to eight.
Kelly finished with a team-high 14 points; Benson scored 13 points; Golden had 10; Sadie Schober had seven points; both Raylee Stenzel and Driskill had five points; and Gabby Miller had two points.
