The Wright County Journal was a recipient of three state advertising awards in the Missouri Press Advertising and Marketing Executives’ (MPAME) 2026 Best Ad Contest.
Owner/Publisher Ron Schott received the awards on April 16 during a presentation held at the Courtyard Marriott in Jefferson City.
The Wright County Journal’s help wanted ad designed for Hutchens Industries was voted first place in the state for Best Single Classified Display ad in the Class 2 weekly newspaper division.
A judge said, “Nice balanced ad with eye-catching artwork.”
Schott’s fall sports sales tool used for the 2025 season earned second place honors in Class 2, just behind the Springfield Business Journal.
A judge said, “Like the font and the page examples.”
Schott’s quarter page ad for Whetstone Veterinary Clinic also earned second place honors in the Best Ad Smaller than a Full Page, No Smaller Than a Quarter Page. Class 1 and Class 2 were combined for this category.
“Missouri has some of the best ad designers in the country, so beating any of these folks to win an award is always quite the honor, much less three awards” Schott said. “I’m just grateful that God has once again allowed the newspaper to be recognized at the state level. To God be the glory.”
