Fall baseball preview: Norwood
The Norwood Pirates’ baseball team has a big group of seniors looking to help the squad make some noise this fall.
That list includes Carder Kelly (INF/P), Pierce Lawson (CF/P), Holten Lopez (1B/P), Caden Black (INF/P), Hunner Finch (OF) and Wyatt Bolfing (OF).
This group went 15-7 this past spring after a disappointing fall season where they finished around the .500 mark.
Norwood head coach Drew Miller said the pitching staff is “shaping up to be solid.”
Offensively, the Pirates look to push across some runs with so many hitters returning from last year’s squad.
This will also help the program on the defensive side of the ball as well.
“Our players have mixed very well together,” Coach Miller noted. “They have known/played with each other a lot over the years.”
The Pirates will start this season on Sep. 8 at home against a good Conway team starting at 4:30 p.m.
