Players earn All-State and Academic All-State honors

There were several local baseball players who recently earned either All-State or Academic All-State honors from the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA).

All-State
Mansfield had four Lions earn All-State honors in Class 2.
Leading the way for Mansfield was senior Kaden Coble, who received first-team All-State honors for the DH/Utility position.
Second-team All-State honors went to senior infielder Carter Garrison while senior Judd Watterson was an honorable mention All-State player in the infield.
Junior pitcher Charlie Grubbs capped off his solid season with an honorable mention All-State honor as a pitcher for Mansfield.
In Class 1, Norwood sophomore Pierce Lawson was a second team selection as an outfielder.

Academic All-State
The MHSBCA named several Wright County baseball players to its list of players earning Academic All-State honors.
In Class 1, Norwood’s Pierce Lawson, Noah Drake and Cooper Vaughan each earned a spot on the Academic All-State list.
In Class 2, Carter Garrison and Brock Gray were both Academic All-State selections.
No players from Hartville or Mountain Grove earned a spot on the list for their respective class sizes.
