Wright County had entered the month of July with just one active case of COVID-19 and 14 others who have fully recovered and have been out of isolation.
Unfortunately, by the end of the 4th of July weekend, the Wright County Health Department (WCHD) was reporting 14 active COVID-19 cases with all 14 people now in isolation.
On July 2, the seven new cases had several public exposure risks locations identified during the WCHD’s investigations where no masks were worn.
They include the following dates and locations:

After another five cases were reported, the WCHD also announced possible new public exposure may have taken place on June 25 at the Norwood High School Baccalaureate.
The current WCHD total for COVID-19 cases since they started being recorded is at 28 as 14 are fully recovered.
Reportedly, none of the above cases came from free testing recently done in Mountain Grove. As of Thursday, July 2, WCHD Administrator Tracy Hardcastle reported that 21 of the 67 tested came back negative. The remaining test results were not yet made available.
