Carry the Cross-Wright County on Good Friday

Posted

The annual Carry the Cross event is coming once again to Wright County on Good Friday, March 29.

Crosses will be positioned every quarter-mile alongside Highway 60 between Mountain Grove and Cedar Gap.

Organizers say there are still several available spots between Macomb and Cedar Gap available.

Also this week, some spots on the eastbound lane will be opened up.

For those wanting to sign up for a spot to hold a cross, they must message Carry the Cross-Wright County on Facebook by the end of the day on Wednesday, March 27.

Single cross holders must be male and older than 18. Anyone younger or a female should have at least one partner.

The pre-rally event will take place at 6:15 a.m. at the Nazarene Church, just off Hovis St. in Mountain Grove on Good Friday.

“It’s time again to unite as believers in Wright County to carry the cross on Good Friday,” organizers said in a prepared message sent to the Wright County Journal.

“It’s simple, no denominations, no church affiliations, no man-made traditions, just witnesses for Jesus and all holding the same cross.”’
